The Zitadelle looks like a great place to visit, thank you. If it's not too hard to get to by the tube I will be sure to see it. _________________ "When did tech become goth?"

It's very easy. Just take the U7 line and get out at "Zitadelle" station - impossible to miss. _________________ Ti ringrazio, Mondo, che imperturbabile sei, in che non giudichi le maschere della Mediocrità. (Elena Previdi) |

If the price is more important to you than the location of the hostel, check this out: http://www.billig-pension.de/preise.html
15 € per night for a single bedroom. No breakfast, but close to a shopping Mall and the tube. This is the direct link to the reservation form: http://www.billig-pension.de/reservierung.html
Some more Tourist stuff everybody should see in Berlin:
The Reichstag: The seat of the german government. The building was built in the 19th century and was already the seat of the government when germany had an emporer (until 1918). After that time it was the seat of government for the first democratic government until the nAzis took over.
The building has a new glass roof and you get a beautiful view over Berlin there. You may have to stand in line for 1-2 hours to get in though.
It's also right next to the Brandenburger Tor, another tourist attraction of Berlin.
Close to the Reichstag is the Jewish Monument, which was built to commemorate the Holocaust.
The museum at "Checkpoint Charly" shows many exhibits of the Berlin wall and the time before the german reunification. Checkpoint Charly used to be the name of the border crossing between the american and the russian sector of Berlin.
If you wanna see some gothic stores and do some shopping:

To someone who has never been, simple things can be big.
But, maybe you can make some good recommendations? _________________ "When did tech become goth?"

the best thing to breathe the real berlin is just to walk around on a sunny day. so you'll have both tourist spots and the berlin everyday life.
good routes are:
Rent a bike! Our bikeways are good and biking is very common.
There are surely other good routes as well.

I've never stayed in a hostel before. How do you make sure your suitcase is secure during the day when you are out and about? _________________ "When did tech become goth?"
